Yes, I realize the name of this smoothie is a little corny. But with signs of spring finally making an appearance in Toronto, I’m feeling a little giddy.
Berry smoothies are incredibly flexible. Feel free to sub in your favourite berries and combinations. I used mixed frozen berries, so it eats like a dessert. Let it thaw for a more drink-like experience.
Berries, as you may know, are packed with antioxidants that zip around your body and zap rogue compounds called free radicals.
Eat berries, fresh or frozen, several times a week.I also used super sweet prunes (aka dried plums) to counter the tart kefir. My magical Vitamix pulverized the prunes – my kids were shocked when I revealed the secret ingredient.
